Alexander Korsantia performs across the world, collaborating with artists such as Valeri Gergiev, Christoff Eshenbach, Paavo Jarvi, Gianandrea Noseda, Yuri Bashmet, Vadim Repin, Jerusalem Quartet and Sakari Oramo.
Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, Korsantia moved to U.S.A. in 1992, to study with Alexander Toradze at Indiana University.
He won First Prize at the Rubinstein Competition and First Prize at Sydney International Piano Competition. In 1999 he was awarded the medal of Honor, for his contribution to Georgian Arts.
His forthcoming engagements include a televised performance of Rachmaninov’s Third Concerto in St. Petersburg, Stresa Festival, RAI Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony, Gilmore Festival, Tour of Italy with Georgian State Symphony, Bogota Symphony in France and Italy, with Kirov Orchestra and Valeri Gergiev, Birmingham Symphony with Sakari Oramo, Bournemouth Symphony, Israel Chamber Orchestra and a Recital in Cleveland with violinist Vadim Repin.
A very important part of his schedule is in his homeland Georgia.
In 2003 Georgian National TV released a full-length documentary about him. In 2004 he was invited to the inauguration President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili.
Korsantia is a professor at the New England Conservatory in Boston since 2003.
