Shahar Baltsan (born 2005) is a third-year undergraduate at the Buchmann– Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University, where he studies piano with Asaf Zohar and Arie Vardi. He serves as an outstanding musician in the IDF. Baltsan started studying piano at age six with Ron Trachtman at the Israel Conservatory of Music in Tel Aviv and has received scholarships from the America–Israel Cultural Foundation since 2020.
He won major Israeli competitions, including Piano Forever (Ashdod), the Paul Ben‑Haim Competition, the Arianne Katcz Piano Competition, and the “Kan Kol HaMusica” Young Artist Competition—where he performed with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.
He has participated in programs at the Jerusalem Music Center, including Murray Perahia’s masterclass series. He attended masterclasses with renowned artists such as Boris Berman, Robert Levin, and Katarzyna Popowa‑Zydroń.
