Xiaohan Wang

A Steinway Artist and honorary professor, Xiaohan Wang is Chair of Pre-College Piano Studies and professor of chamber music in post-graduate studies at the Tianjin Juilliard School. He also holds the title of Distinguished Professor of piano at the China Conservatory of Music. He has given master classes at The Juilliard School, New England Conservatory, Hannover Hochschule für Musik und Theater and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His students have won more than 50 prizes at international competitions.

Wang is a prizewinner of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition (Texas), the ARD International Music Competition (Munich), and the Beethoven International Piano Competition (Bonn). He has performed at Ravinia, Beethoven and Rubinstein Festivals. As a chamber musician, Wang has collaborated with violinists Hilary Hahn and Ning Feng, cellists Misha Maisky and Qin Liwei, the Jerusalem Quartet, the Takács Quartet, the Tokyo Quartet, and the Juilliard Quartet.

In addition, Wang is also a talented composer and conductor. His composition “The Inspiration of Painting” was chosen as the compulsory piece for the 2007 Beethoven International Piano Competition.

Xiaohan Wang is Artistic Director of the Arthur Rubinstein International Junior Piano Competition and the Singapore International Piano Competition. He regularly serves on the jury in international competitions, namely the Sydney Competition, the Isangyun Competition, and the Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians.
