Dmitry Ratush

Dmitry Ratush, Principal Violist of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra since 2020 and founding member of the IPO Toscanini String Quartet, made his debut in New York City at the Merkin Concert Hall in 1991. Dmitry is among the leading string players in Israel today. He served as Principal Violist of the Bern Symphony Orchestra in Switzerland and regularly participates in important projects as guest Principal Violist - of iPalpiti international Chamber Orchestra and the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, Palau del les Artes (Spain) under the baton of Zubin Mehta. Dmitry has played chamber music with artists such as Pinchas Zukerman, Rudolf Buchbinder,
Nikolaj Znaider, Lynn Harrell, Gil Shaham, Julian Rachlin and David Garrett. He has appeared as soloist in the Musikverein, Vienna. Luxembourg Philharmonic Hall, Prague Dvořák Concert Hall and many others.
He was born in 1973 in St. Petersburg. In 1990 Dmitry and his family left Russia and settled in Israel, where he began his studies at the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem with world-renowned viola virtuoso Michael Kugel. Graduating from Jerusalem Academy in 1994, he continued his studies in Dallas, Texas at SMU, Meadows School of the Arts with Dr. Schmieder (violin) and Professor Hustis (viola).
Dmitry Ratush is a founding member of the Chamber Ensemble Millennium, at the Targ Music Center in Jerusalem and "Quattro Plus" Tel Aviv. With these ensembles, he has appeared on numerous live radio broadcasts in Israel and may be heard on numerous CD recordings.
